Did Benchmade sell out????

Heard about this the other day… surely there are several takes on the story but anyone that destroys weapons in coordination with the government is permanently on the no go list. Terrible news for me because I use a benchmade on a daily basis.

Sell outs just like Hornady and carhart I’m afraid.

I’m sensitive buddy - after dealing with Bidens vax mandate as a small biz owner I’m just ready to cut anyone down.
If their policy is the guns had to be destroyed... and they called a local partner business to assist them with equipment they have to use to destroy them rather than going out to buy the equipment ...and take away from their training budget... what difference would it make if it was Benchmade or MCI Welding down the road that they really don't have a relationship with?

I don't like it that the weapons were destroyed but they would have been destroyed anyway and Benchmade was doing a favor for their locals. I don't have a problem with Benchmade, I have a problem with whoever is responsible for necessitating the destruction in the first place.

and while we are it...I don't believe Hornady sold to the Russians...if so there would be export paperwork available in a FOIA info request.

Steve would do anything for a buck near as I can tell. Not saying he sold anything to the Russians but he dang sure would if he could.

This is an old scandal. I saw it first a few years back. I blame the PD and their policy...But then no PD anywhere is gonna put guns they've obtained back on the street.

I'm gonna keep using my Benchmades, and might buy more.

Georgia passed a law a few years back. They're supposed to auction off the firearms they "buy back".

I wasn't aware...

I'm going back 30 years, but in the department I worked for, the guns we wound up with weren't worth messing with. Mostly junk. RG's, Bryco, Lorcin, you know the stuff I mean.

Also, I never was involved in any kind of gun buyback either, ours were all confiscations.

The exception was a lone Browning BAR Safari .270 that stayed in the arms room. Nobody had the heart to bust it up, but we couldn't do anything with it either...

I suspect that it's still there.

The old georgiacarry.org helped get that law passed.

I don't know about other departments , but I do know Cherokee county Sheriff's office takes their confiscated firearms to a local gun store up in that area , and gets store credit that the department uses . So they do end up back on the street, but with legal paperwork.

I see that as a good thing. I never saw the point in destroying inanimate objects...lol

Yeah, a lot of the ones confiscated are nothing special, lower end pistols, shotguns, rifles, but every now and then they confiscate some really nice ones, that someone gets a chance at once the store does the paperwork

They're all supposed to to do that, but some departments you have to keep an eye on. They absolutely hate being forced to follow the law too... :bounce:
