Earliest you have seen "slick horns"?

I have trail cam pic of a 7 pointer about 7-8 years ago that was slick horned on August 15th.....I have found several rubs around this time of year as well...

Usually not til the end of August. My SC club is in the "Low Country" and a Velvet Buck is much desired .......even there it's the last week of August .........

Too bad sanity has finally prevailed and I have that out of my system. I don't plan to sit a stand til 9-15-07...........

I know of bucks killed august 15th with no velvet, some with little left and some full thru august.

Its about time to someone to start getting pictures of some slick horns!!

opening day for me. I don't use trail cameras (I'm too cheap to buy them) and I know exactly where I'm going on the opener but I usually don't see rubs until at least Sep on my place but I'm sure they are starting to get itchy on the head gear!!!!

Saw one in the backyard last night that had a small piece falling off, wont be long! This drought may make the velvet cure a little faster this year.
