Lanier is tough for a kayaker like myself in the winter. Gotta pick a spot and hope the fish are there, since can't cover much water.

So, went up north to the mountain lakes looking for walleye in the cold. Couldn't find any, but did get into some decent rainbows. My first non-Hooch trout :)

Caught on a medium Shad-Rap crank bait. All fish released since was only looking for walleye.

Last one looks like he had a run in with a heron at some point. Catch and release!

Lake Seed, my new favorite place. Too bad it's an hour and a half drive for me.

Well those are some nice trout! Not a bad bycatch :)

I'll be on seed for my first time in a couple of weeks. I have a date with some walleye...I hope. Good luck and keep that bottom side down in this cold weather. Nice yak!
