Fat 18 inch rainbow trout (updated 3/2)

Lanier is tough for a kayaker like myself in the winter. Gotta pick a spot and hope the fish are there, since can't cover much water.

So, went up north to the mountain lakes looking for walleye in the cold. Couldn't find any, but did get into some decent rainbows. My first non-Hooch trout

Caught on a medium Shad-Rap crank bait. All fish released since was only looking for walleye.

Thanks It's a Wilderness Systems Commander 120. Super stable, but slow/difficult to paddle.

Nope, just a bunch of layers. It was cold, but low wind and really wasn't as bad as it looked.

I'll be on seed for my first time in a couple of weeks. I have a date with some walleye...I hope. Good luck and keep that bottom side down in this cold weather. Nice yak!
