I was set up on a creek crossing (on the ground) in a transition area this morning. I had 4 does come past me and I double lunged this one at 12 yards. She ran 50 yards before expiring. It was a great morning to be out there.
I was hunkered down behind a rather large White Oak that sits up on a little hump at the edge of a creek. Flooding years ago carved the bank out near the Oak. I could look over the crest of the hill and see the top of her back and head coming. I had a little mesh blind staked up behind me to cover my back because I was fairly exposed on the other side. Once she came around that hump it was too late for her.
Thanks for the kind words everybody.
