Started off with the base, a little lard, smoked hog jowl, and a couple of onions. Fried em down some, then added the washed and soaked baby lima beans, my seasonings, and covered with water. Commenced to simmering at 12, and by a little after dark they should be fit to eat with some fried pork chops and cornbread.

Betcha he'd eat it, or at least sop a biscuit/konebread in the gravy..
Naw, but if I was going to eat beans, it would be limas or butterbeans. It wouldn't be soup beans or pintos.

Yessir...You prolly eatin' good bout right now. I could even skip the pork chop with a slice or two of cornbread to go with that pot of goodness. Made a pot of great northern's bout 2 weeks ago and forgot how much I like those. Got a hankering for baby lima's now.

Baby Lima's are good, unless you really like Lima beans. I've always and forever, rather have the large white Lima beans. Never even thought about it before.
