Funny story, a know of a guy that setup on a roost, sat their for hours, never would fly down. Turned out to be buzzards.
About 10:30 for me.
My first bird this year sat on the roost for about 30min before he flew down. Had some hens on the roost for over an hour cackling non stop.
I had one on the ground gobbling in the dark before. That bird was ready for some lovin. I'm guilty of getting setup to early...this joker was gobbling as I opened up the door to get out. When I got to the powerline, you could see it strutting in the moonlight.
