Yep! There was one that hung out at a spot on the McKay river last year. We saw it a couple times while fishing for trout, but didn't think of throwing at it with the inshore rods. It was out in front of a big set of shell beds rolling on the surface. We didn't see it for a few minutes and my buddy throws a live shrimp under a popping cork up in about three feet of water on the beds. Dang if he didn't hook that tarpon. It exploded up out of the water and immediately broke the leader. That fish hung out there from iid August to well into September.
