Hey y'all, just dropping in with photos from the past few big trips. I've been knocking off bucket list species over the past year or so and catching good fish per usual every week. Just flew back in from Florida where I got my first tarpon and broke some PB's. Thought I'd share some of it here. Enjoy!

IMG20230924104418.jpg My first bonefish! Accidently caught from a pierIMG_20230922_235653_01.jpgFirst ever tarpon! Done battle with a handful from 5lbs up to maybe 120-130lbs or so, but none of them ever stuck until last Friday.IMG_20230922_235622_01.jpgTarpon on fly rod achieved! Lot of fun on a 9wt. Caught 6 tarpon total. 2 on fly and the rest on spinning. Technically had about a 40lber on fly since we leadered it but I only count fish I actually touch.

IMG_20230927_214758.jpgbirthday trip to Mexico this year for another bucket list species - my first ROOSTERFISH!! I had no favorite fish before, but between tarpon and roosters, I think I have strong contenders for my favorite salty fish.IMG_20230927_214745.jpgone of several large Mexican Jack Crevalle IMG_20230927_214731.jpglast year's birthday trip scratched peacock bass off the bucket list!IMG_20230927_214718.jpgfor some reason the peas wanted nothing but the fly. No jerkbaits, topwater or nothing, just a #6 Clouser Minnow.

Did a boring offshore trolling trip looking for Sailfish and Wahoo in January but at least I can say I got a bunch of tuna
IMG_20221016_080219.jpgcaught a ridiculous amount of MONSTER bull reds during last year's run. Very few other people seemed to really get on them. I think my PB was 42"
IMG_20221222_154257.jpgOf course several big bass like always. Smoked this 7lber 3 days before Christmas on a crankbait IMG_20220910_002303_03.jpglanded my first ever snook last year and it was on a topwater plug I brought down myself. Crushed this one with a 40 incher this past weekend

IMG_20220528_104303.jpgnice big mutton snapper caught on topwater right off the beach
IMG20230818121926.jpgbass bite still strong. They were on the lipless crankbaits for a solid few weeks and then it's been chatterbaits and topwater ever sinceIMG_20230717_175351.jpgI've reached mastery of BFS fishing since I picked it up and managed a 5 pounder using it! It's already fun to catch them but doing it with 5lb test and a tiny baitcasting setup with little JDM lures is that much more fun!IMG_20230415_141745.jpgspring goldfish bite was pretty good! Got to love carp, they're the closest you'll get to a redfish in freshwater
received_246698784281392.jpegbig lake Lanier spots per usual. They had a tourney going on that day but I was guiding friends. Caught 21 or 22lbs, got both of them to break their PB spots, and wasn't even in the tourney. Made me think about things...

Very impressive, I used to fish A LOT work and life has gotten in the way. 1 day I'll be back on the water though.

That roosterfish was insanely colorful! (y) I've never heard of them before.
