Is it worth trying to fix?

I have a 2005 Evinrude Etec 50 hp on a Carolina Skiff 16dlx. The motor needs both fuel rails, o rings, fuel pump and a couple of other parts. Previous owner used ethanol gas I'm guessing and it eat the fuel lines. I have priced the parts at around $750. I talked to a couple of shops and they all say scrap it and buy another, but can't sink several grand into a different motor. So my question is, Is it worth the gamble of trying to fix it myself?

The fuel supply and returns are made of rubber fuel line type material with plastic nipples that go into the injectors. The plastic nipples broke off next to the o ring and the hose in crumbling apart.

Not being a smart donkey, but I think you answered your own question.

The Oracle
If it's still got good compression, I'd fix it.
If you don't want it, I'll take it off tour hands. ?

Boat motors are ridiculous cost nowadays.
