Public land bird

This bird was killed on April 11 I found this bird just off the public land in someone's cow pasture I got set up on him to try to call him across the line I call a couple times on my trumpet he would hammer it ever time the last time I called I seen him start running my way I thought something had spook him after a couple minutes I seen him walk thru the wood right to me!!I shot him at 35 yards!
