Question for those with domesticated turkeys

For those of you with domesticated turkeys. Do they primarily wander around in the yard/woods or do they destroy flowerbeds, etc? I would like some for the house, but not if they scratch up and destroy flowerbeds. My wife would probably kill me before the bird. Any other tips/comments I would like to hear as well.

They'll bottom plow everything. Plus, they will wander off with the wild birds and introduce them to diseases that they are immune to but will kill the wild birds.

And, a lot of them tend to chase cars.
