That will actually still get a tread and riser like Trex or something similar. It will go on top of those blocks and stringers and it will keep it from swaying between the stringers.

I did that once on New Year’s Day, except it was to go deer hunting. I got in bed at 0300 after partying and got back up at 0500 to meet my hunting partner. I wanted to sleep but it was long before cell phones and I didn’t want to call and wake up his family so I drug myself out of bed to meet him.
