Skipjack Shad question

So I have heard nothing but good things about using skipjack for cut bait. I’ve been down here since June and am getting familiar with the waters. I’ve heard the skipjack run and such, but I’m wondering where could I target these fish. In no way am I trying to steal a honey hole, rather just trying to gain some local insight. I have no problem with trial and error.

Down town Columbus, on the river walk where the rocks end. Lots of access in that area.
