Tom Petty Somewhere You Feel Free

I've been a Tom Petty fan since the first album and middle school...American Girl still gets airtime on family road trips often...

Full Moon Fever was a staple in my Jeep in college, and when I was starting my career Wildflowers came out, which I thought was a masterpiece. When he made that album with Rick Rubin, it was the pinnacle of his career IMHO.

I don't know how many times I saw him, but the Wildflowers tour with Pete Droge (great musician in his own right) opening up in Cleveland, OH was epic. The show was outdoors at Blossom and hot as Hades, and he played 23 songs...never forget that concert...

If you like TP, and haven't seen it, the documentary Tom Petty Somewhere You Feel Free is worth a watch...it was made in '21 I think, just got around to watching it...

I really enjoyed it...lost him too soon...but he had a great career...

Last time he was in Atlanta was in April around our anniversary. I was going to by the Mrs tickets, but I didn’t and he died in October. Never got to see him. Always regretted it.

So her birthday present last year was tickets to Stevie Nicks in Alpharetta. She still has it.

I listen to TP almost everyday and never get bored with it

Heck a birthday present. Love Stevie Nicks. Watched a Fleetwood Mac concert last night on the TV.

Bally's casino in Vegas in 1985....we walked in the entrance from the attached hotel, and to the right, in a glass enclosed room of about 10 x 15ft, there was a band playing. Tom Petty and his band. Kind of strange for someone of his caliber to be on display in a glass box, but there he was!

One of my favorite bands growing up. Saw them and Jackson Browne at Lakewood/HiFi Buys in the early 2000s. One of the best concerts I've been to.
