We were sitting on the bank of Clarks Hill and this small group of gray, medium sized birds flew in. They were all up in a Sweet Gum tree about 10-15 feet.
What amazed us were how well they could fly. They were almost like giant hummingbirds. A few flew out and grabbed an insect out of the air and flew back to the tree to eat it.
We could hear their wings flutter and it seemed like they could hover a few seconds and move straight up a bit.
They also looked for insects on the limbs of the Sweet Gums. They all sorta left together as they worked their way down the shore of the lake.
