Sometimes I just like to make stuff up to see if it works. Last night was one such occasion. I had this notion in my head of a small buck tail jig with a curl-tail grub body. The idea was bass, bluegill, and shell cracker from the neighborhood pond. The Bass cooperated. The Bluegill and Shellcracker not so much. Fished with a hopping retrieve. I caught 6 bass in 45 min or so (amongst helping my 5 y/o with his fish also).
