Winchester Model 72

I was recently gifted an old Winchester model 72 .22 cal from my fiancé's grandfather. It is a "pre-serial number" gun which I now know was manufactured between 1938-and 1949, possibly later. Other than that I am not very familiar with this model. It seems like a solid .22 rifle and I'm looking forward to shooting her (the gun not my fiancé :bounce:). I cleaned her up last night, and with the exception of some wear on the stock it looks to be in better than fair condition.

Does anyone have any pointers or tricks to offer? Thoughts?
