All University of Georgia football games and most of the school's men's and women's basketball games will air nationwide on satellite radio starting this fall.

The UGA Athletic Association on Friday announced a five-year broadcast agreement that will make the games available to far-flung fans and alumni on XM Satellite Radio.

Georgia will receive an average of about $150,000 per year for its participation in a broader deal between XM and the SEC, associate athletics director Alan Thomas said.

Georgia said that while all of its regular-season football games will air on XM this fall, at least eight will feature the call of the UGA broadcast crew of Larry Munson (health permitting), Scott Howard and Loran Smith. For the remainder of the Georgia games, XM could use the broadcasts of opposing teams.

Five other SEC schools — Arkansas, Kentucky, Mississippi State, Ole Miss and Tennessee — will have their games on XM this fall, with more to follow. XM's deal with the SEC also includes rights to air the conference's football championship game and basketball tournaments.

UGA's satellite radio deal will have no effect on the traditional Georgia Radio Network, including flagship station WSB 750 AM, which will continue to carry all Bulldogs football and men's basketball games.

Munson has said that health issues might force him to limit his broadcast duties to home games this football season. Georgia associate athletics director Claude Felton said Friday that Munson is free to set his own schedule on a week-to-week basis.

"We'd like him to do whichever games and as many games as he'd like to do," Felton said.

XM's lineup includes more than 170 digital channels. The network will dedicate a group of channels to the SEC games.
