Advice for a beginner

I've hunted most of my life. Deer, dove, squirrel and the occasional quail is the extent of my hunting. I have never hunted ducks. I have always wanted too. I want to give it an honest chance. Believe or not it's my wife who wants us to really try it. She is really behind the idea. Do ya'll have any general advice? Where do you begin when trying to find places to go? I live in Commerce, Ga. Do you need a boat? Any advice is welcome. Thanks in advance.

Read the rules, find some birds, get there early and shoot straight. Can be one of the most rewarding or most frustrating things on the planet. The golf of hunting.

I live in the same area that you do and if you can find you a swamp that someone will let you hunt you don’t need a boat but good luck in that I can’t think of a swamp in Jackson county or banks county that is covered up with people

Boat? Yes, if you need one you have it but not always, mostly for me.
Wife? Sounds like you have a good one.
It's hard to learn without someone showing you the basics IMO.

Maybe try a guided hunt (do your homework!!) for the first time to see what is involved.

Good luck
