So how do you suggest we do that in keeping with freedom of choice and free capitalism theories and all. I get the sentiment. Making it happen is a different story.
Stop payin businesses to move here using our tax dollars would be a step towards free market economics. Then we could go from there as to the tone we set as a state.

Probably no way we can prevent it, our state and the variety of environments it has , has always made it desirable to a lot of people, used to be affordable to live here, still is compared to places like Kalifornia and New York I suppose, we have the mountains in N.Ga, the coast on one side, and close proximity to Fla beaches, Atlanta is a transportation and business hub, our best features are also our worst enemy when it comes to attracting more people !

Only state in a worse predicament than us is probably Florida, cause they've been attracting the same sort of people we don't want either , its red now, but give it a few years and I'll bet it changes also, we'd be in better shape if we didn't have a wimp of a Governor like Kemp , if we had someone like DeSantis maybe some liberals wouldn't want to move here, the way it is everyone knows our state will be blue very soon, so they are flocking to it !

Where are they going to put the HAZMAT dump?
California! :)The place is getting unlivable anyway, so everyone from California who can get out will get out - and move to Georgia, Florida, Texas, etc. I could be wrong, but it makes sense.

Anybody know what byproducts come from battery manufacturing and their environmental impacts?

Business moving here only really favors the business owners the way it’s set out.

Higher paid positions are given to friends and family or existing employees not from here and all the entry level and high turnover (low paid) positions offered to the locals.

All for the narrative of “new and more jobs”.

That is why we don’t need businesses moving here.

GA and a lot of the southeast are also right to work states.

That helps immensely for the owners of manufacturing facilities located here since large numbers of workers in close proximity to each other are traditionally easier to organize.

Lack of strong unions make locating facilities here that will require large amounts of employees very enticing.

Oh boy, another plant that needs 500 workers! Thats 8000 for Hyundai, and another 5000 for the supporting plants.
We can’t find 100 workers paying at the top of scale.

I suspect we will have a lot of Koreans coming over because working people have left the building

with all these labor shortages, i've legit been considering quitting my office job and getting into production of sorts. The money has got to be good for a go-getter.

I'm sure some folks around Social Circle and Rutledge can give a leg up on being the opposition.

They already been through it with Rivian and have the lawyers and dot orgs on speed dial.
