Open house

Jake and Colton have a new clubhouse under construction.
They hope to schedule the "Open House" celebration just before Christmas. Ya'll are invited!

I thought about this one a couple of times this week, and just couldn't think of a good approach for something to fit this theme...

Well, I was sitting here working up images, when it hit me - I did shoot several "open" subjects this week!

Here's a ruddy turnstone with an "open" bill! I actually had a choice of a few species of birds with open bills from this week. It looks like in about 2 1/2 hours on Thursday and today, I shot about 20 different species of birds!

Nikon D300s, Nikkor 400 mm w/2x teleconverter, f/6.3, 1/800th second, ISO 200, tripod, flash @ -2 1/3 with fresnel, slight crop.

My 14 yr old son started trapping this week. This is his first furbearer and has "opened" a new door for him in the outdoor world.
