At the end of the season can the wildcard bird be used to fill an unused "spot" on a teams bird entries or is it to be used only to replace a lesser scoring bird already entered ?

It can be used to fill an empty slot or replace a bird.

Also beards do not have to be measured from an inch line like the spurs, but both ends of the tape must be visible.
