Annual May Camping Trip

Got the yearly camping trip coming up Mid-May, interested in getting y’all’s suggestions on where to go? Anywhere within 4.5 hours of Atlanta is game.

We will either wade, or could take the Jon boat.

Smallmouth, spots, or red eyes would be ideal target. If the area also allows us easy access to gain elevation for trout we aren’t opposed to that.

Currently looking at somewhere around North Cherokee NF (TN), Pisgah NF (NC), or maybe Black Warrior NF (AL). Anything else we should look at in the area? Anyone done all 3 and have a preference?

Franklin, Bryson City, Cherokee, Sylva areas, little Tennessee River for smallies, tons of smaller rivers, creeks and streams for trout. Only a few hours from ATL

Plenty of places to camp in the Nantahala along water. Could take the jon boat for some of the reservoir's and wade fish the trout waters..
