I remember everyone coming together and building one last tobacco barn at my grandparents place back in the early 70's. @Nicodemus, do you remember that last barn being built?

I do remember hog killings...neighbors and kin folk would all pitch in and help....it was as much as a social event as anything....

When I was a kid and a neighbor's tobacco barn burned down or his barn was damaged by a storm lots of folks got together in the neighborhood and built his tobacco barn back or fixed his barn. I know people still help one another but not like they did back in the day when I was growing up.. Things were much simpler back then and people really cared for each other..

Real working folks helping real working folks. Not standing around navel gazing, whinning, and waiting on someone else to do it.
