Would be very sweet for the next issue to have a big cat on the cover instead of horn-porn.

I'm thinking the same thing. Finally proof.. But of course people are gonna still be skeptical about it. And then there will be a whole boat load of " I told you so" threads popping up faster than zits on a teenagers forehead.

The state will dance around, and will say it was a cat that got loose from a pen somewhere..........

Can I be the first, please?

I'll see what I can find out about this, I know someone I can call that will know!

Well..when you find out, please let me know. My lease borders Johns Wma, I want to know if the herd on my property is going to be decimated by marauding "large cats" before the gun opener. I also want to know if I would be breaking any game laws by dispatching any of these large non-game animals if they were to approach me in a threaening manner. Not to mention ...I want to meet the common sense person who shot one of these things and proved me wrong....Breathe in, breathe out and repeat after me...."There are no *black panterhs in Georgia"

Black Panther, cougar, jaguar, lions, tigers, ligers etc.....:whip:

well I've hunted for 23 years and never seen a big cat and the state DNR says there aren't any buuut, I don't beleive that is proof there are none. Maybe even a few transit animals. I read once they relied to some extent on road sightings/kills. I um don't think these animals would be hanging out on I-75. I just don't want to encounter one unexpectedly.

If some big, mature bucks can go unseen. I don't see why a big cat can't.

Show me a picture of a baby rock dove (pigeon) in the wild. Kind of hard to find.

I Live Down Here In Thomas County On The Florida Line And I Have Heard From Other Hunters And Plantation Overseers That Florida Panthers Have Been Spoted In This County. Some Say They Were Black And Others Say They Saw The Traditional Brown Ones Which From What I Read Are Closely Related To Mountain Lions. But What Do I Know. I Just Don't Want To See One Before His Lunch!:hair:

i kinda like the baby pidgeon (squabb) to the aristocrats thing, also the baby box turtle. While i dont see something doesn mean it is not their. Large mature bucks for example are a rare sighting in daylight as a sasquach. Many of the bucks taken by game cams at night over corn are never bagged, a few are.their is something in a mans mind that wants to believe in the unexplained. It may be extra terestials, black panthers, yetis, or even swamp gas. I sleep much better at deer camp with the thought that something unexplained might just show up in the morning!:bounce::bounce::bounce::whip::huh::huh::stir:

In the early 90's a few texas cougars were released in northern Florida and if memory serves me correct, one or two did cross over in to GA. All of them were eventually re-captured however.

NAH they wouldn't ever cross a state line!
Hasn't some bears shown up from the mtns to middle GA w/o being seen between here and there?
