Of course I NEED a few more:
.318 Westley Richards Accelerated Express
.338 Marlin Express
.404 Jeffrey
.50-90
.500 JRH
9x25 Dillon

Nice list of calibers owned AND calibers lusted for.

I've got one of your "dream" calibers: a .404 Jeffery I had built on a Ruger RSM action back in 2002. It's been to Africa twice: the first time in 2003, on a plains game hunt to Namibia; and again in 2005 on a dangerous game hunt to Save Conservancy in Zimbabwe. I could have taken my .458 Lott on that second hunt, but decided on the Jeffery due to its deep African roots. I had it loaded with 400-grain Swift A-Frames shooting 2,350 fps., which is well above the original 400-grain load of 2,150 fps. on which the caliber gained its fame. It literally knocked a cape buffalo off its feet when I shot it at 30 yards.

On that trip to Zimbabwe, I garnered a certain amount of respect from my Professional Hunters due to my choice of a caliber so steeped in African hunting history. They were used to American's showing up with super modern, whiz bang calibers (like the Lott), or ubiquitous .375 H&Hs. In fact, one of my PHs carried an original Oberndorf Mauser, Circa 1910, in .404 Jeffery as his primary "sort-things-out-when-they-go-bad" rifle.

Last I heard, he was still alive and pounding the bushveld, which means the old gun is doing its job!

I'm not gonna list em all but I do have 2 that I don't think have shown up yet. They are both gitrdun calibers that have killed a lot of critters over the years.

Nice! I did leave one off I would love to take to Africa for Elephant and Buffalo, a Rigby or H&H double rifle in .450/400

!

That is 4906 ft*lbs of energy. Bet that one kills at both ends. I myself am quite content with the 405 grain out of the 45-70 at about 1500 fps for my purposes. :)

Used to have a few more rifle calibers. but sold a few over the years to fund premium optics. Plan to buy a .243, 6.5 Grendel, and maybe a .280 in the future, to close in a couple gaps. lol

yeah...I didn't add the Tippmann A5 with the Response Trigger and Flat Line barrel that all of the internals were highly polished on...there's probably a Wrist Rocket here somewhere and left over marbles.

Holy crap! Left out one of my favorite rifles! Browning Safari Grade .300 H&H

I've always covered a .300 H&H caliber, but could never justify buying one due to the fact that I already own its ballistic twins, a.300 Win. Mag., and a .300 WSM., both of which are tack drivers. Sometimes it's just better to save the money to spend on a hunt, which is the reason for owning all these guns in the first place!

Which Browning Safari Grade so you own? The early ones were FN controlled round feed actions, and later ones (mid '70s, I think) used push feed Sako actions. Both are great, as long as you don't have one of the "salt wood" rifles.

I've got one of the FN , CRF rifles built in 1969 in .375 H&H. It is a custom gun in that it has an after market Bishop stock. This gun is very particular about what load you feed it, liking cheaper factory ammo over any of my dozens of handloads I've tried. I took a 5x5 elk with it using plain old 270-grain, green box Remington factory ammo.

It is a FN Mauser action with long extractor CRF. I have seen a .458 that had an FN action with a short extractor non CRF.
