As a kid French was my go to dressing. Gettin older it got harder and harder to find, and today nuthin compairs to the old stuff. Anyways here's one I make. It's not exactly right. Too sweet and not much tang... otherwise good. Could just cut the amount of sugar? But wanted to leave it as I make it and My thinkin is we could put our minds togeather and come out with somethin real special.

INGREDIENTS:
1 1/2 cups vegetable oil
1 cup ketchup
3/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup vinegar
1 small onion, chopped
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon salt
DIRECTIONS:
1. In a blender or food processor, blend all ingredients until smooth. Store in the refrigerator.

Here's an easy recipe.

1/4 cup vinegar
1/4 cup oil
1/4 cup ketchup
1/4 cup sugar
2 cloves garlic chopped.

Shake in container and use. Better if refrigerated a couple of hours before use.

Alright I stole a little from both of ya and made some.

1/2C Vinegar
1/2C Olive Oil
1/2C Ketchup
1/2C Sugar
2 cloves garlic
1/2t Granulated Onion
Juice of one lemon

Sounds good....Momma used to make some a long time ago and used some Mayo. I guess that was in place of Olive oil.

Is this the one you use at home. I like simple, but don't know - sounds like it might be too simple.

I will make this one again! Turned out purty good. My son said "daddy, this is the best ever. I want to have this kind forever. It's better than the white (ranch) kind." Success! :bounce:

It's the one I use at home and also serve my guests. I haven't had any complaints and even the wife likes it.

Give it a shot. It only take you a couple of minutes to make.

Huntfish, I finally tried your recipe. Hate to admit I had to run out a my Krafts first. Well it was good but too sweet and to much garlic for me so I added another half helping of your ingredients w/out the sugar, plus a little paprika stolen from BBQboss. It's FINE, FINE, FINE. I'm sittin in high cotton right now, if ya know what I mean. APPRECIATE IT. Wayne
