The reason Bennett shows out running is because it takes FOREVER for him to make reads and get rid of the ball. Even smart inadvertently mentioned this on a hot mike in one game. For whatever reason JT Daniels wasn’t available and has not been most of the years. What little he has played since Bennett won the job was in meaningless mop up time with the 2s and 3s. The problem isn’t Bennett the problem is that with all the resources available to him and a down SEC Bennett is the best QB on the roster….a kid who was not offered by anyone out of high school or JUCO is the best QB Kirby smart has.

The QB situation at UGA continues to deteriorate. Smart went from a promising freshman in 2016 to another one in 2017. He stuck with that one when there was a more talented one on the roster in 2018 and was stuck with the one who was getting measurably worse in 2019. He then proceeded to evaluate and offer scholarships to not one but 2 transfer QBs who apparently should never have been offered at a SEC school because one ran off when the second showed up and the second one can’t outperform a walk on no one offered out of high school or JUCO.

UGA fans have no choice but to trust that smart knows what he is doing. He is the best coach UGA ever had. What UGA fans should do is temper expectations. UGA is not a blue blood program. We are not elite and never have been. Kirby Smart is not elite and never was and likely never will be. We are very good with missing pieces every season. It is what it is. Who knows, we may win a rematch with Alabama….we did against Auburn in 2017. But we are not on the cusp of being a dynasty because we do not have an elite program period.

I seen big number 99 so gased in the first quarter he looked like a girl out there. It was pitiful. I’d bet he never had to be doubled teamed the entire time. Our defense blew this game. The offense didn’t play well either. But the defense stayed in Athens. Now, I suspect that all of our defensive and offensive players didn’t like getting humiliated! Unlike in years past we have a mulligan and will get another shot at them hopefully. Let’s be honest. The Dawg players fell into the trap. They thought they were number one. Rat poison. Our team is loaded with talent and Saban knows it. Can they mentally finish. We will see.

If I was Jordan Davis I’d be working on my conditioning the next couple weeks. I’d also try and lose about 20-25 pounds. He got exploited when he couldn’t get off the field.

Yep. Rat poison got to them. They had an easy game against GT while Bama had the fight of their lives against the Barn. Bama was the better prepared team yesterday, no question about it.

Kirby sees these guys EVERY DAY in practice. If JT was better than Stetson, he would have been playing. This was a team loss. Both sides of the ball looked tepid and weak. The D backs showed shades of Willie Martinez in that soft coverage. At the end of the day this falls on the coaching staff. Alabama went to school and came out with a game plan and executed. Georgia looked flat from the first play. THAT is coaching. Swap coaching staffs between teams last night and UGA would win. We do not lack players, talent or skills.

Brutally honest introspection there, respect.
As an Alabama native, resident of Georgia it has long puzzled me just why Georgia can't be another Bama.
I still don't fully understand but there is a definite difference in how the entire state of Alabama eats, breathes and sleeps football vs how the state of Georgia, forgive me for this, play acts at football.
Don't get me wrong, us Bama folks love us some UGA Dawgs football. Probably the only other SEC team worthy of our respect but your fan base and ours are on two completely different levels.

It used to be said in Alabama that there was only one man alive that Governor George Wallace feared, Coach Paul "Bear" Bryant.
Could anyone have said that of Coach Dooley?
