What a great blessing this day has been, and a very long one!! Everything went off without a hitch! I arrived around 5:00 AM this morning and got this show moving. The weather was as good as you could ask for, the turnout was very good with 30 paid entries, 31 boats including ours. The donations were off the chart for the size of our event with two overflowing boxes of some really nice toys, and raffle ticket sales of $270. Jeff Kornow and his lovely wife brought their fine bar b Que and services to the event (Curly Q's BBQ). The donations ranged from tackle to soft bags and git certificates, hats, shirts, rod, reel, Catch and Release, Bow to Stern boat cleaner. in fact we raffled and drew door prizes for almost an hour! Thanks to the wonderful folks who donated/sponsored to this event and all of you who were kind of enough to participate and donate toys for the kids. It was an enjoyable day to say the least.
I will post the tournament stats shortly, but let me at least get the money spots out there so everyone can see what it took to win.
1st place went to Chad and Ryan with 5 fish for 10.58 lbs, their efforts resulted in a $300 for 1st and $290 side pot.
2nd place went to Danny and Daniel T with 5 fish for 10.01 and $276
3rd place went to Monty with 5 fish for 8.65 lbs and $240 and Big Bass with a 2.86 lb Spotted bass for $300
4th place went to Tom and Ken with 5 fish for 8.22 lbs for $204
5th place went to Stan and I (Porko) with 5 fish for 7.88 lbs for $120
and the last money spot went to Joey and Arnold with 5 fish for 7.85 lbs for $60

Cherrie Carney, who is with the Atlanta Toys for Tots, was our special guest today, and she was absolutely blown away with the participation. .The Atlanta Area Toys for Tots serves 17 metro counties and is the LARGEST area served in the US for the campaign. Cherrie is looking forward to next years event already and we kinda pre talked some marketing ideas. If it comes through, next year will be BIGGER Again I want to thank each and every person that came out, donated and fished the event. I also want to take the time to thank those who graciously donated items all on such short notice for our Door Prizes and Raffle items, Thanks to, Publix, The Dugout, Sacketts Western Wear, Tack, and Feed, Radical Tackle, Bow To Stern Protectant (BTS), 5X3 Fishing, and Matt Driver, Warren Barnes, Warren Barnes Fishing, Dustin Coosariverkilla King and BoatUS, Mike Bucca of Bull Shad Swimbaits, Stan Knowles and Coach Bagby, Academy Sports of Cartersville, & Sure Life Release Formula & Curly Q's BBQ.I also want to thank Bob Robert L Smith, for listening to my crazy idea for the fall bash benefit and agreeing to help out. Bob's relationships with the Gatewood Park folks and Bartow County allowed us to have a hassle free event. I will post pictures tomorrow as I am on the sleepy side and my phone is about dead and it has all the pics. AGAIN THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU
