Memorial Day Weekend cooks

Smoked Chicken, Mac and cheese, and such coming up tonight. However, I did just finish my annual two day smoked venison and jalapeno sausage batch. Made a good snack.

Coming along nicely.







Wanted some jalapeño poppers but just didn't have time for all the prep.
So I tried something new -
Smoked a few jalapeños. Chunked them up. Added them to a block of cream cheese, some crumbled up bacon & pan sausage (left over from making the fatties) & seasonings (Slap Yo Mama, garlic powder & brown sugar).

That's what I stuff poppers with.
Turned out to be a delicious dip!

Threw some ribs on the pellet grill while Mrs. Hoss made potato salad and baked beans. It was pretty good.

Had some old Army buddies over, reminisced about the wild times called some that couldn't make it.

Grilled steak, pasta salad, fried okra, cukes and some watermelon rounded out the menu.

I agree with you ryork, it's been a cool day for Memorial day, relaxing by the fire now, with bluegrass on the speaker. Finished up our supper a while ago, it was good, and from the looks of it, everybody else had some great meals too.Now it's time to listen to some of my neighbors putting on a fireworks extravaganza, some folks just don't get it.

Great thread. We did ribs and threw some chicken on the grill for this week. Corn on the cob and baked bean sides. No plated pic. OH, and a buttermilk pie for desert.

Wife gone on beach trip so i fixed me rack of ribs, tater salad, Brunswick stew, and some mexican brisket
