Minn Kota ulterra foot control question

How are owners of the Minn Kota ulterra liking the foot control? Does it get better with time on the water?
I love this trolling motor for the spot lock. And it's great for trolling . But I can't seem to be able to use the foot pedal very well when trying to bass fish. So used to the traditional foot pedal.

You’ll get use to it, it took a while to get it perfect for me, I had xi5 till I went to the garmin, there is a screw underneath the pedal in both of the ones mentioned above, that you can adjust the tension in the pedal, the harder the pedal is, the better for me, it’s close to a cable steer with the tension up

Well I think I got my hopes up for nothing. I don't think the Ulterra has any kind of an adjustment. I took notice this time out of what gives me the most issue. And its pushing the heel of the foot down. It seems a lot harder than pushing the toes down.
