Alright I'm new at this blackpowder thing...and I think I like it
I've killed 2 deer in 2 attempts, my first ever buck, and as a gift to the land owner,...a yearling doe for the BBQ.
Both deer were shot with the 270gr powerpoint aeropoint bullets,...100gr (2 pellets) 777 and Remington primers( for muzzleloaders)
Both deer were shot at a distance of 70 yds.
The buck was hit just behind the shoulder and a touch low(by the elbow)...it stopped inside the skin on the off shoulder,...buck ran 40 yds uphill leaving a "red carpet" blood trail.
The doe was shot off hand while standing in my climber, I pulled the shot, hit her in the spine and down through the off side lung, clean pass through, she expired with in 20 seconds, massive bleeding.
Here is a picture of the slug recovered from the buck...
