I mailordered a roughed-out blank of a bobwhite quail and finished it using some carving tips and sanders on my Dremel. I had some glass eyeballs so I mounted them using ApoxySculpt, added pewter legs, burned in some feather details and now I'm painting it.
After my Dad retired, he and his high-school football coach would hunt the local wild quail coveys with the coaches Brittany dogs. Dad was heartbroken when his friend and coach passed away. So this quail is dedicated to their friendship.
