We were about as dry as a popcorn toot here in the 30341. Luckily for everybody the Mrs. and I watered everything yesterday afternoon late. It's rained hard all night and all morning long. Had a mama doe and her two fawns browsing our hostas in the rain this morning when I let the dog out.

I was in Orlando earlier this week and Tuesday - maybe Wednesday - night there was a WILD night of lightning! It was almost like strobe lights or something. Just constant flashes off in the distance, sometimes simultaneously. Not much rain or lightning at our motel though.

The lightening you saw those days were from the west Lake County was getting hammered with. The one last night started south of Kissimmee and tracked north shutting all the parks down. We have probably had 6” of rain this week. Wild lightening shows. A lot of horizontal lightening across the sky as well as ground to air.

Severe thunderstorm over Clark Hill Lake in Columbia County right now! It's raining at my house about 10 miles south of the dam. I saw the approaching storm about 1/2 hour ago and knew something was brewing!

Yesterday (20 July) one soldier killed, nine others injured here at Fort Gordon from a lightning strike during field training exercises. 1 soldier killed, at least 9 others injured after lightning strikes Army base in Georgia (foxweather.com)
