Something to consider

My cousin has been fighting for his life in SC. In his 20s and gotta a nice bass boat with a 200 hp motor. He hit a submerged log and the motor flipped back inside the boat and hit him. Here on Allatoona we all pull into coves to avoid night time tournament starts. 20 or more fast boats running in the dark relying on GPS is insane. "Blast off" or whatever you call it puts everyone at risk at night. At some point the liability of this will fall on the tournament organizations that continue to encourage dangerous boating practices. Every duck hunter and boat captain with experience knows to slow down and have eyes looking for debris at night. Especially after a storm or rain event. That GPS is only good for keeping the boat on a path. 60 mph in the dark racing your buddies is a problem for everyone on the water. Before you imediatly get defensive. Stop and think, what if it is your kid? Your friend? Or someone not part of the tournament? How many accidents until organizations change this? Thanks for reading.

Tournament organizations and directors should be liable for injury to bystanders because of tournament boats. If they won't make rules to make competitors drive safe, then force them to.
