What an afternoon! Got started with Scott at 12pm noon.....headed north to my first place...and holy smoke - we hammered them!
I eased around a little first looking for bait. We found a little bait but I saw a mega school belly to the bottom. We turned around and it was on.
We both dropped the Damiki down and were hooked up soon after....singles, doubles....when they stopped hitting the Damiki, we picked up the spoon, drop shot, and Neko rig.
The drop shot - Blue Lily and Melon Candy....the Damiki - they wanted our Disco colored 3.5" swimmer cut down - I mean they were hammering it!
We boated 13-14 including a 5#-6# catfish.....left them biting and moved to another place with no luck.....came back about 20 minutes later and it was on again! Hammered them for another 30 minutes and decided to take some pics and go look at some other places south.
Found a few more schools but around 2:30pm - our bite died. I think we only caught 2-3 more fish after 2:30 - then got off water at 5pm. We did pull up on one school that think were stripers that covered the entire screen and just hung around the small ditch. We tried everything to get them to hit with no luck.
Wow - first 2 hrs or so and it was fish after fish - then died as it kept getting colder. The cold front really slowed the bite later in the day.
Great fun with Scott - he's a repeat customer and we didn't even get to talk trash because we were both hammering them
Got some videos too - hopefully Cory and work his magic and get them out of my phone and do his editing - I just turned on the camera and set it down. I guess I need to learn to use these Go Pros Cory bought . LJ
