Transducer Cable Splicing

Ok got a new minn Kota trolling motor with a universal transducer in it. I already have a Lowrance depth finder and transducer. Fitted ole trans to trol motor. Deployed new remote trolling motor and it cut the transducer wire. I have now ordered an adapter to fit trolling motor transducer to my lowrance fish finder. Question can I police the ole transducer cable. I understand diolectric strength of wire and shielding. Has anyone ever repaired their cable wit

I have and it worked fine. But it wasnt one of the down scan/side scan models.

Just make sure to insulate the wires from one another. I used amalgamating tape then electrical tape over the whole splice. Also try to keep the shielding where it covers as much as you can.

Thank you. I thought it was possible.
