Best time to plant these? We are considering turning one of our plots into a mast and fruit tree grove…persimmon, pear, chestnut, and crabapple

I plant all my trees in February, except for citrus.

Fall or early spring either work well. You can plant containerized trees all year for that matter, as long as you keep them watered until they're established. I've planted tens of thousands of containerized trees in the middle of the summer.

Jan/ February is a good time to plant. Has been for us anyway. It’s a lot of fun. Wish I could have started 30 years ago lol
