Use a bottle of 3% hydrogen peroxide, two rounded tablespoons of baking soda, and a teaspoon of dishwashing soap. Mix it all up, brush it on liberally, let stand for five minutes or so, and rinse well. Then prepare as normal.

Had a trapper tell me to hang it in a creek with running water and it would wash the smell off. He was a very good trapper.

We had them over by the rock quarry couple of years ago everywhere. Now I hardly see them anymore. Not sure what happened ?

Ended up catching a fox, skunk , couple coons and a couple possums . Land owner pulled traps after about a week . Had some business to take care of and couldn’t check them for a few days .
