I read today that there are the “13 year” and “17 year” cicadas. They have both hatched and that’s why they’re making such a racket. The ones with the orange eyes and wings are the 17 year old hatch. I dunno how they figure that out, most have died off around here, laying everywhere.

Haven’t seen or heard the first one here at home base, top of Lookout Mountain in extreme NE AL. Went fishing behind Chickamauga Dam today and they were everywhere. The front of my truck is covered in their remnants, they were all in the boat, and they were thick on the water in places.

Still haven't made their way up here in our neck of the woods, I'm waiting.
