@doomtrpr_z71 would be the best one to answer that question, but spraying clethodim, for grass shouldn't be an issue. 2,4d-b might be a concern, depending on the size of the trees and whether spray gets on the leaves or not. Having a boom sprayer like you have will reduce that risk vs a boomless, which can have spray go in a lot of different directions.

Some of the trees (about 140) are 4 years old and some ((about 150) were planted this year.

If and when I do it (and I will need to) I will do it late afternoon on a calm and dry day.
