saturday morning i got my second long beard.this is only my second year turkey hunting. my first bird was on april first, and was much bigger than this one with a 11 inch beard and 1 inch spurs. but i am even prouder of this one because i patterned him. this bird roosted in the same area for a week, and he got away from me last sunday, so this sat. i got in there an hour and 15 minutes before daylight. i knew which way he had been flying down ,so when i heard him fly down i did a few soft purs and clucks and here he came. 18 lb. 9 inch beard , 7/8 inch spurs.

Awesome! Isn't it great when a plan comes together?

Did you make no sounds until he flew down?

Congrats,
It is always satisfying to slip in close and get one to come straight to you off the roost.
