He found a way to beat the system as far as most hunters are concerned. He thinks that he is gonna get some mercy like a half rack buck does most of the time. At least the law states "three gobblers". He will cook up good like the rest of them as far as I'm concerned though.
Same thing happened to me last year. Called a bird in and he was acting like a big bird. He got right on top of me and had not beard, so I put the gun down and let him start working out. Right before he got out of range I noticed spurs. I did not get another shot at him. I was not happy with the situation. Smart bird though.
