When your hubby buys two deep dish pies shells, you have to make a buttermilk pie and a tomato pie. Smells so good.

Never heard of that, sounds good since I love buttermilk. Can you supply the reception Mrs Hornet?

Don't taste anything like buttermilk.. ;)

It's hard to describe.

Kinda' sweet, NOT real sweet and a little firmer than
a custard.

Here ya go.
2-9” unbaked pie shells. ½ cup butter. 3 round tablespoons self rising flour. 2 cups sugar. 3 beaten eggs. 1 cup buttermilk. 1 tsp. vanilla. Dash of nutmeg.
Have butter soft, add sugar, cream well. Add flour, eggs and beat well. Stir in buttermilk, vanilla and nutmeg. Pour into pie shells. Bake at 350 for 45 to 50 minutes.
You can also use 1 deep dish pie shell for 1 pie. I prefer 2 pies.:bounce:

Another recipe I have had both and this is my personal favorite.

2 cups bisquick
half pint or so whipping cream and one cup cheese for the dough

use a 9by 13 dish and bake at 400 for 15 minutes.

after the dough is cooled slice two tomatoes and put on top.
Then in another bowl combine one cup of mayo, one cup of cheese and saltated onions to taste and thyme to taste. Spread this mixture on top on the tomatoes and bake at 350 for 15 more minutes.
