Hummingbird lake maps problem?

I have a hummingbird 1197,,
Last few times out my lake maps would load up,, but soon it will go white, just showing my tracks and way points!
No channels or contours, no depth colors!
It is an older unit?
Any suggestions?
Any help would be appreciated!

First things first. If you have Never Registered your Bird......head on over to Humminbirddotcom and do that. The reason?......you'll get access to the Latest Software for your unit. This will likely solve your issue.....and even though the last Update was a few years ago for your unit.....it will at least get you as up to date as possible. The Instructions are there as well. Even if I bought it used?
When Robert (1st Bite )
Switched to Lowrance,,
I bought hummingbird and minkota pilot,
They've served my well for yrs!

Yes.....you can still Register it.....it's Yours now. You'll need the Serial Number.....the info is at the website....D
