Engine Degreaser on Outboard - Anyone use it before?

I have an older outboard that I am doing some work to and cleaning up. The inside has some 2 stroke oil that has been slung around in it and I would like to get it all cleaned up once I get all the repairs done. Anyone ever use engine degreaser? Is it ok to just spray it everywhere inside the engine? Or should I use caution around wires and etc?

Are you talking about spraying it on the engine with the cover removed? Or you talking about actually INSIDE the engine?

You can absolutely take off the cover and spray the engine itself...let it sit for 5 or so minutes and hose it off. I wouldn't directly spray bulk electrical connectors with water...but it won't hurt if they get a little wet. If it's carbureted, try not to spray into the carbs...or if it's fuel injected, try not to spray the intake plenum opening.

Also, I'd clean it BEFORE you do any repairs. It will certainly make the repair less of a hassle and less messy.
