i found this in a creek on our hunting club and cant figure it out its not rotted off[ the ends it looks like some kind of lock or something for a fence or maybe something to do with a mule plowing i dont know do you? thanks

Sure looks like it. And if it's like split rail fences around here, it's made from locust and won't rot till long after we're gone.
