Need Help w/ Wood and Rock ID

I milled a log yesterday that I thought was sweet gum but after looking at it, I'm not sure. What do y'all think this is?



And what kind of rock is this? I've been piling them up and can't figure out if its granite, marble, quartz, or something else.

My guess is poplar log and a quartzite rock, too.
