Up and at it. Headed to Haralson in a bit. Phone says 32 currently figure it will drop 2 degrees just before sun up. Bow in hand today. Hoping for a doe this morning but I sure won't fuss over an ole mossback buck either. Good luck to all hunting this morning, be safe, and stay warm.

Finally got settled. Sitting in a big pine overlooking a clear cut draw with drainage ditch about 20 yards in front of me. It's a cold 25 with a slight breeze in my face. Warm for the moment from my long hike in and adventure of trying to find a tree.good luck all.

Shot fired, doe down. First time I brought the X bolt to camp since installing a Timney trigger. 2 shots has resulted in 2 dead deer. This one ran 35 or 40 yards. No problem finding her, SST went through left shoulder came out right rib cage.

I don't need anymore meat, so buck only for me until curtain closes. But if a member were to say, hey I need a doe, I would be happy to oblige.

A small doe came out of the brush running south, cut west and stopped to look back. Then she took off running north. A few minutes later a small spike came out, working that does trail like a Walker hound. He got it figured too. I hope get lucky young feller.

Nippy sit on mash branch this morning. 4 and 6 point came by so far. Here’s how it got its name.IMG_1445.jpegwe think this was the decoy still, they were informed by the sheriff that the revenuers were coming and moved the main still across the farm before they came. Per and old black lady who grew up and worked on the farm many moons ago.
