6.5 almost wasn't enough

Went to a piece of property I got permission to hunt and saw 11 deer this morning. I went back to the same stand this afternoon and told my wife I was going to kill a doe if I got a chance because we're about out of meat. I watched this doe for about 15 minutes feeding around before I let the 6.5 go to work. 200ish yard shot via rangefinder and she ran about 50. She'll eat good and first deer little man has ever seen and he wanted to chew on her with his new toof!

Curious what bullets you were shooting and what kind of blood trail you had.

Congrats on the deer!
I was shooting 123 grain SST handloads.
That is what I found where she went in at and it just got better the farther in I got. I didn't take any more pictures because it was so thick. She was spraying blood 3 feet up in trees out both sides. Entrance was about 6 inches behind the shoulder mid body exit was about 3 inches forward of entrance with a thumb size hole.

She was healthy for sure. She was all by herself, I watched her for a while to see if she had any friends or a boyfriend with her. I drug her out of the thicket and realized she was on the heavier side.
